Literacy: Where Potential Takes Root

Literacy changes lives. Help us bring hope to low-literacy adults in Oregon.

  • We deliver high-quality training to volunteer tutors.
  • We connect volunteer tutors with local adult literacy programs.
  • We provide low-income adults with vouchers for GED® exams.
  • We train tutors to work with adults who need help with passing their GED exams or Citizenship tests.

Who donates to the Portland Literacy Council? 

How Will Your Donation Help?

  • $250 – Pay the cost of one adult learner’s GED exams.
  • $150 – Help send two volunteers to PLC’s annual tutor conference.
  • $100 – Help two volunteers attend our Basic Tutor Training.
  • $50 – Help two volunteers attend an Awesome Tutor Workshop. 
  • $25 – Help one volunteer attend an Awesome Tutor Workshop.
